Raising the Standard
An eight-film series produced for Relay Graduate School of Education — capturing Texas educators who stepped out of the classroom to grow, and came back ready to change what's possible for their students.
How the series came together
Good Word Agency joined Relay Graduate School of Education to capture a room full of Texas educators investing in their own growth — and to turn a day of professional learning into a film series.
Relay Graduate School of Education prepares teachers and school leaders across the country — more than 10,000 teacher alumni and 6,000 leader alumni who have gone on to educate over 1.2 million students. Its Professional Education arm partners with schools, systems, and states to keep educators growing long after certification. This series was filmed at a Relay Professional Education gathering in Texas.
Professional development is easy to talk about and hard to make people feel. The series needed to capture the honest, in-between moments — the conversations, the challenges, the breakthroughs — and show why one teacher's growth matters far beyond their own classroom.
Good Word Agency produced an eight-film series — direction, cinematography, lighting, sound, and editorial — capturing Texas educators on camera as they reflected on their growth through Relay, plus the social cutdowns and rollout. Produced and directed by Jordan Laessig.
Eight short, shareable films that put real Texas educators at the center of Relay's story — proof that when teachers get better, everything changes, and a content library Relay can carry across recruitment, social, and partnerships.
